  • Open the Facebook app on your phone.
  • If the mode does not automatically activate, tap on the purple Go to Free Mode button at the top of the screen.
  • If you don’t have the app installed, open free.facebook.com in your web browser.
  • Tap on the Go to Free Mode button at the top of the page afterwards.

How Do You Deactivate the Facebook Free Mode?

One major disadvantage of the free mode is you won’t be able to see photos. If for this reason you want to go back to data mode or probably you now have data, simply click on See Photos within the app environment or on the website.

Here’s another way to deactivate the Facebook Free Mode:

  • Open the Facebook app or website and make sure you’re in free mode.
  • Tap on the ? mark just next to You’re in Free Mode.
  • Tap on Disable this feature.

Or you can simply go to https://m.facebook.com/zero/toggle/settings and tap on Disable this feature.

Because of the fact that you can’t see photos when using the Facebook Free Mode, the development might seem not that amazing though; however, it’s way better than nothing.
